Joined Team Latinissimo 2010

Anya was born in the sign of Gemini in the city of Krasnodar near the Black Sea in the southern part of the former USSR, Russia. We took notice of Anya straight away when she walked though the doors at Latinissimo. Tall, slender and with catwalk, high fashion like looks, she knew exactly what she wanted - to join Team Latinissimo!

Anya was introduced to Cuban salsa through a friend and loved it, but wanted to step it up and get more serious. That's when she turned to Latinissimo. Anya has not had any previous dance training and although she has only been dancing since April 2010, she was determined to be on stage.

I asked Anya how her experience with Team Latinissimo has been;

"-I love my classes with Latinissimo. I've learnt a lot and received a lot of motivation. Make me want to continue and progress further"

...and so she did... Anya joined not only Latinissimo's "DELTA" Team, but also Team "CHARLIE" and has performed at mayor events such as Jambalaya, Kiwi Classic, Latinissimo's 6 Year Anniversary, New Zealand Salsa Congress. At the time of writing this article, she is rehearsing a new choreography with the "DELTA" Team.

I also asked her what she would like to achieve with salsa within the next 5 years; [blockquote]"-If you take the slogan I've seen on some t-shirts, "Dance like everybody is watching", I would like to be able to "Dance so everyone is watching" in 5 years time :-)"

Anya works as a project manager for a web development company in Auckland. She has been playing classic guitarr for 12 years and now has her own students. She loves snowboarding, misses snow flakes on Christmas eve and has a rabbit called Bun.
