Dunya is originally from Croatia and came to New Zealand at age 13. She is a Libra, very balanced and sometimes... crazy, as she describes herself.

She has been Latin dancing on and off for the past 5 years. She started off with Ceroc, went to the Salsa Nationals and the rest is history.

Although Salsa her first love for Latin dancing... she has totally fallen head over heels for Zouk! She has been doing it since the first classes where held in Auckland back in 2008. However, every now and then she also puts on a Samba costume to shake her feathers!

Dunya joined Latinissimo's "CHARLIE" Team (C) to perform at the New Zealand Salsa Congress. She has also been part of a Samba group lead by samba choreographer Graziela, that performed at the annual Brazil Central event held in Brisbane. The choreography was so well received that it got the Brazilian instructors off their seats!

How has your experience with Team Latinissimo been;

"-Definitely a challenge both physically and technique wise. However, I have achieved things I didn't think were possible. It showed me that with good teachers, supportive partner, team and some hard work... it can all be achieved."

"-I want to be a great social dancer... but first and foremost, have fun!"

Dunya is a citizen of the world, she has grown up in Africa, Middle East, Europe and now lives in Australasia. She paints for fun, has completed a graphic design diploma, loves running and did we mention she loves Zouk..? You can catch Dunya anywhere where there is Zouk music playing!
